St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands – Coral World

Given my mom and I are over the top animal lovers, headed out to visit Coral World Ocean Park and were there when they opened.

The park opened in 1978 and has suffered its fair share of hurricanes. Not to jinx it, but it has been hurricane free since 2018. While there are spectacular views, there wasn’t anything over the top special about this place. They offer some experiences involving dolphins, sea lions and sea tracking, but the park itself is just okay. I enjoyed the bird exhibit and the underwater aquarium was unique. We sat in on a bird educational session which was… educational. Lol. There are an abundance of iguanas walking around, but those are all over the island. The park is involved in sea turtle rescues which made me feel good about supporting them while I was there. Overall, we had a good time and spent about 3 hours exploring, but I personally wouldn’t do this again. If you have a few hours to kill on your agenda, it’s a good place to explore, and you’ll likely have a great time if you opt for one of the experiences they offer! Enjoy some photos of our time there!

Some visitor I capture enjoying the underwater trek

I’m so grateful for the time to explore St. Thomas and extra grateful that I get to share it with you.

If you’ve been to Coral World, please let me know what you thought, especially if you took advantage of their marine experiences (I would be interested in the sea lion one!). Let me known in the comment section on the very bottom of this page!
