Welti Falls

I love hiking, but when there’s a waterfall involved, I get really excited. This waterfall was no exception.

Welti Falls is located in Cullman, AL and we found it by typing the following coordinates in Apple Maps: 34.1504 – 86.7633. The parking is roadside there are no trail markings, however, the trail is easily navigable and it’s clear where the trail is at all times.

This is an impressive cascading waterfall that requires little effort to see. The hike is only half a mile and while the trail is in its natural state, it’s mostly flat terrain with little elevation. There were several families with small children who seemed to have an easy time making this hike. I took my parents and my two dogs. We had a great time!

The trail offered some pretty sights along the way.

As you round the bend and get yourself first glance of Welti, you will be impressed.

The pools at the bottom of the falls stretch out far enough where there are calm places to swim. You can and should take a dip, especially if the day was as hot as it was when we went. There’s also a nice place at the top of the falls to swim. This makes for the perfect summer day adventure. This would be perfect to pack a lunch in for a picnic… one could make a whole day out of it.
