From someone who has struggled with extremely dry hair her whole life and most recently a journey to restore bleached, damaged hair, let me introduce you to my favorite products from five different brands. I’ll go over a salon exclusive treatment that can only be purchased by licensed salons, as well as items you can purchase without having to go to a salon that will work WONDERS on your hair.

Leaf and Flower

Current obsession: LEAF AND FLOWER! I’m just going to jump right in and share how flabbergasted I am that I don’t hear more people talking about these products and treatments. My lovely hair stylist, Anna, at Blooms Salon and Spa, assessed my hair the fist time I sat down in her chair and said, “You need the Leaf and Flower Molecular Bonding Treatment… like today.” So if you haven’t heard of this line of products, prepare to be amazed.

Before I get to this magical treatment, let me share the Leaf and Flower Instant Damage Correction shampoo and conditioner that I use. It’s AMAZING. Pair it with the Phyto- Molecular Oil and the Instant Frizz Remedy for a yummy leave in treatment. Purchase these four bottles and you’ve got yourself a gold standard hair care line up.

Let me pause right here and say that if your salon is not offering you exclusive salon treatments that can’t be bought without a salon license, I’d recommend finding a different salon. There’s something to be said about receiving a treatment that can only be salon administered. We are talking high end, professional products that will give you hair you never thought possible. That said, let me go on to gush about one such treatment.

So, back to the Leaf and Flower Molecular Bonding Treatment. This treatment is a CBD 3-In-1 intense professional reparative + preventative service that instantly reconstructs damaged hair, infuses anti-humectant properties and seals split ends; all while delivering long-lasting results for up to 10 washes. I can attest that it instantly revives hair from years of damage by forming a smoother, healthier and more youthful state.

You cannot purchase this treatment unless you are a licensed salon, and you can only receive the treatment in-salon. Let me tell you, it changed my life. I thought my hair was beyond repair due to bleaching it for two years (never again) and was sure it was a lost cause. Once this treatment was applied, I was put under the hood dryer and then the treatment was rinsed and my hair was blow dried. She spun me around in that chair when she was done and I was shocked at how silky and smooth my hair was. I have never seen a product last through washes but after I washed my hair a week later, I still saw the product gleaming off my hair. It was amazing. I literally will receive no reward for you finding a salon that offers this treatment. I’m just sharing it because I don’t think it’s talked about enough and deserves recognition for how magical it is! If you are interested in finding a salon that offers this treatment (and I suggest that you do), you can use this salon locator and use your zip code to find a local salon and make an appointment. I get this treatment every 12 weeks and I am pleased to say I found The Bianca Rose Salon that offers an extensive menu of treatments that included Flower and Leaf. It costs $65.00 and takes one hour to apply (worth every penny!). It’s not really what I would consider local, but it was the closest one that offered it (believe me, I called around), so I’ll just make the drive every 12 weeks and make the best of it.

Here I am after using the Instant Damage Correction shampoo and conditioner. I blow dried my hair immediately after I got out of the shower and did not use any styling tools. So healthy and shiny!!!

Redkin

Ok, I have used every single one of these products I’m about to talk about and they blow the drugstore brands out of the water. The lineup below is what seems to me to be an overhaul of their older products, and I’m not mad about it!

Processed / Damaged Hair

First up, the Acidic Bonding Concentrate with Leave-in Treatment set with complimenting mask really put my hair on the road to recovery on my last phases of bleaching. I went through four bottles and was always impressed with the damage repair benefits. Introduced to me by yet another awesome salon, I was grateful for this find.

Weak Hair

I’ve also used the Extreme Strength Repair set that focuses on strengthening damaged hair with protein and touts 73% less breakage. I also use the mask to compliment and bring everything together.

Dry / Brittle Hair

Next up is the tried and true All Soft set with leave-in treatment that is near and dear to my heart. All Soft is the first non-drugstore brand of shampoo and conditioner I used (back in 2002!) and I literally remember the day I used the hair mask. My hair was transformed! This was also the day I became a hair product snob and have never used a drugstore brand on my hair since. This set focuses on dry, brittle hair by providing a top notch moisturizing complex. Check out the Mega All Soft set with the Hydromelt leave-in treatment made for severely dry hair (which I wish they would have had available back in 2002!). Mix the Hydromelt with this Argan Oil Treatment and you’ll have the ultimate hydrating hair concoction (I really just mix the two products together in my hands and apply).

Considering my hair was all of the above, I had these products and would use one for about a month, and then switch to the other. I did this for almost two years and had a lot of success with keeping my hair healthy and manageable.

Kevin Murphy

This is another brand that I wouldn’t have been so positively impacted by without the support of a knowledge stylist who knew her stuff. The Repair Me and Hydrate Me set had me admiring my hair for months. This obsession was short lived because I was soon after introduced to Leaf and Flower but I am considering repurchasing this to flip back and forth between Leaf and Flower. I have to pat myself on the back though because I did not allow myself to buy the Leaf and Flower until every drop of this brand had been used.

Living Proof

Now this brand was introduced to me via a FabFitFun box (check out my 2022Winter unboxing) and I was so impressed with the Perfect Hair Day leave-in treatment that I had gone through two bottles before I knew it and was enjoying seriously hydrated and shiny hair using the shampoo and conditioner set. The leave in treatment stays in stock under my bathroom counter and I randomly throughout the week will add a pump to my hair. It’s really one of the best leave in treatments I’ve ever had the pleasure of using.

Dyson Hair Wrap

While I’m here, I might as well tell you how impressed I am with the Dyson Hair Wrap. Yes, it’s pricy. I’ve had mine for almost three years now and I DID NOT pay the going price. Thinking back, I believe I got it for $399 with 20% off. The big deal about this is that there is no extreme heat damage that comes with other styling tools and blow dryers. This thing has literally won awards and for me, my hair is healthier due to using it, so the cost was worth it to me. The good news is that they have upgraded and improved this tool quite a bit since I bought it. The colors are better (I’d prefer Blue over the pink any day) and two different tools are no longer required for the hair to wrap in certain directions. There’s now just one tool to use and you can adjust the airflow to wrap the hair in any direction you wish. If your local Ulta has one in stock, you could likely sign up for an Ulta card (if you don’t have one already) when making the purchase and save 20% (which is what I did).

Well, I hope I’ve introduced a product to you that improves the health of your hair that you love! I am always open to hear hair product recommendations, so please share your favorites with me!
